Surgance Glove Program – 2010 Launch

The Georgia Dugout Club Annual Coaches’ Clinic with Ron Polk (coaching legend from Mississippi State) as the keynote speaker served as a great launch for the Surgance Glove Program. We worked with Coach Polk in the Dominican Republic and he mentioned that work from the stage to give us a little extra credibility with the group.

At our booth, we visited with old friends and made some new ones in our quest to establish that pipeline for receiving a constant supply of used gloves. Coaches from Jenkins, Carrollton, Decatur, Woodland, Lumpkin County, Duluth, Calhoun, Columbus and Fellowship Christian agreed to partner with us this year.

In addition, Coach Shelnutt of George Walton Academy, handed us a box of 30 gloves that he, his team and boosters donated to us. One parent of a player even purchased a couple of new gloves to donate.

With this start, the Surgance Glove program is off and running with the following schedule for the upcoming weeks. We will be repairing gloves at these locations as we collect used gloves a further support for our program.
