Surgance, Inc. Coordinates rejuveNATION Projects in Denver, Las Vegas, Atlanta, & New York City
In Denver, CO the year’s first rejuveNATION project was completed successfully. During the week of March 26th, Genesis Church, Lowe’s Home Improvement and students from Northwest Missouri State University partnered together to help transform the donation intake center at the Douglas and Elbert County Task Force. The Task Force serves over 13,000 people every year who are in financial need. Last year they gave out over $600,000 is assistance; the majority of these funds coming from the sale of donated items in their thrift store that was renovated.
Surgance is coordinating multiple rejuveNATION pilot projects this summer in Las Vegas, Atlanta, and New York City. Additionally, another project in Birmingham is being discussed.
Targeting local schools in need in Las Vegas, Atlanta, and New York City, Surgance is coordinating cross-sections of the community fabric, to join together in changing the educational environment of local children and youth through painting.
The goal is to draw as many community partners together for the initial projects, resulting in dramatic and tangible community transformation and an experience which will generate momentum for additional projects in 2009.
There is a possibility for another school project in Birmingham, AL to be added to this summer's list of pilot projects.
The projects this summer will extend the reach of the rejuveNATION program to a national footprint.
